Office Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION
Rehobeth UMC is seeking an Office Administrator to provide support to the ministerial staff and other staff members in a busy office environment.  The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and critical partner with excellent organizational and communication skills across all levels of church staff, church membership, and office visitors. 
 
This is a part-time position. Hours will be 8:30 - 1:30 pm Monday – Thursday.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in a related area with considerable relevant experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook and related programs.
  • Proficiently use phone system, calculator, copy machine, and related programs.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Represent Rehobeth in a professional and dignified manner with responsive sensitivity to the needs and interests of others, honoring the Christian values espoused by the church.           
 
DUTIES
  • Serve as church office receptionist during office hours meeting guests and receiving and distributing telephone messages and mail as appropriate.
  • Prepare and publish weekly service and special bulletins for church services.
  • Prepare and publish the monthly newsletter and oversee volunteers preparing those for bulk mailing.
  • Maintain digital church membership rolls with updates to contact information, and especially regarding deaths, births, baptism, confirmation and new membership dates.
  • Work with communications team to promote church sponsored events and provide other communication through print and digital media
  • Maintain church event and facilities use calendars
  • Schedule office equipment maintenance and repair. Maintain necessary office supplies, paper, envelopes, stamps, copy and printer supplies, etc.
  • Assist volunteers with counting and posting weekly financial contributions

Sound Engineer

The Sound Engineer is responsible for the successful operation of the sound reinforcement system during Rehobeth worship services and RUMC-Produced events in the Family Life Center. Reports to Pastors.  A successful candidate will be professional, proactive, and bring a community-minded approach to the work and interpersonal relationships.
 
DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE:
  •  Provide quality and musically-pleasing live sound mixing of Front-of-House, Monitor, and live stream systems, including microphone and direct input selection and patching.
  • Serve as lead technical production director for New Life Worship (9am - Family Life Center) and Traditional Worship (11am - Sanctuary), coordinating sound reinforcement needs in tandem with pastors and music directors.
  • Operate basic stage lighting for New Life Worship (NLW)
  • Assist video operator with setup and audio feed. Manage video live stream in Sanctuary
  • Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the audio and technological systems and equipment
  • Serve as lead consultant for audio and production equipment acquisitions, providing purchase recommendations to senior staff and serving as primary liaison for hiring, managing, and coordinating with outside service contractors or consultants for special projects or equipment installations in the Family Life Center
  • Assist with training and engagement of both youth and adult volunteers to assist with technical production 
 
Duties separately compensated on an hourly or daily rate:
  • Manage production of RUMC-Produced events, including review of technical riders/specs prior to talent booking and coordination of technical advances 
  • Liaise with RUMC program leaders to coordinate successful technical production of Non-NLW pageants, special programs, concerts, and other produced events, including consulting on staffing, equipment, scheduling and other event production needs
  • Hiring, training, and management of substitute or secondary technicians/production staff as needed for NLW, RUMC-Produced, and Rental events in the Family Life Center 
 
Compensation for Sunday worship responsibilities is $180/week (or $125 for only one service) paid once per month

Praise Band Leader

The praise band leader will provide musical leadership of the praise band for Rehobeth’s contemporary New Life Worship service. A successful candidate will have a strong Christian faith, musical leadership ability, knowledge of contemporary worship music, and a strong presence in front of the congregation. They will be professional and proactive, and will bring a community-minded approach to work and interpersonal relationships.
 
DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE
  • Provide instrumental and vocal leadership during New Life Worship on Sundays (9am)
  • Participate in weekly rehearsals and Sunday morning run through (currently Thursday evening and Sunday 7:45am)
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the band to enhance the music and worship experience
  • Provide worship leadership, including transitions between music and other worship elements, and other leadership as appropriate
  • Arrange for other worship leadership as agreed upon
  • Assist Co-Pastors in selecting appropriate contemporary worship music
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong Christian faith
  • Musical leadership ability
  • Knowledge of contemporary worship music
  • Presence and comfort in front of the congregation
 
COMPENSATION
Compensation is $75/week worked paid once per month. This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits

Nursery Worker

​Rehobeth United Methodist Church (4475 Rehobeth Church Rd, Greensboro) is looking for a nursery worker for our two Sunday worship services. Hours are 8:30-12:30 each Sunday with the possibility of also doing extra events from time to time. Current pay is $15 per hour.
 
The nursery cares for infants and toddlers, and there will almost always be at least one volunteer (or another nursery worker) in the nursery with you. Responsibilities will include arriving at 8:30 to check children in, supervising and caring for any children present, communicating with parents as needed, and some basic sanitizing of toys and surfaces.
